It was heard and witnessed that the activities of the illegal minners has completely polluted the river Birim.
The river still seems not to be safe for drinking even after almost two years ban on illegal mining in the country.
A vidoe of some areas shows the river still look the same by which some residents alleged it by the activities of some illegal miners still operating secretly.
